Pluck Out Your Eyeball
an art series to combat the demon of lust
“If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.” -Matthew 5:29
Pluck Out Your Eyeball is a series of paintings I’m currently working on bring the Kingdom of God against the destructive force pornography has on our world.
The problem with pornography is that it takes our God-given desire for beauty, communion, and love and inverts it, pointing it towards distorted images of what is truly beautiful.
The antidote to the pornography epidemic is beauty. Beauty untwists what’s become twisted and redirects our hearts back to the One who can truly satisfy our deepest longings.
