This painting was created for my mom who wanted a painting depicting the motherly care of Mary. A young woman wraps herself in Mary’s mantle, seeking refuge and help from the Queen of Heaven. Mary lifts her chin up and with a gaze of compassion and encouragement, enters into the young woman’s suffering.
