This image is a realistic take on the classic icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The Virgin Mary looks at the viewer, encouraging them to behold her Son - the cause of her salvation and the viewer’s. The Christ child looks up at the angels who carry the instruments of His coming death: the cross and the spear. The viewer is invited to take their cares to Jesus and Mary - who is always available to help her children.
Originally painted for a couple who - through the intercession of Our Lady of Perpetual Help - conceived after years of infertility and right after a successful adoption of twins!
