This painting depicts St. Francis of Assisi staring into “God’s canvas”, the sky. This painting was commissioned for the documentary poster of St. Francis: Legacy of an Artist. A small detail to note - there are flecks of sawdust on Francis’ shoulders to signify his own work as a craftsman, rebuilding the church of Christ.
