This painting depicts the Blessed Virgin Mary at night surrounded by glowing lilies. The moon shines through her veil and peaceful face. The word “ave” means “hail” or “welcome” and lilies are a symbol of purity. I pray that this image of Mary encourages the viewer to welcome Mary and her spirit into their hearts. Her pure love will teach us all how to love her Son and humbly allow His light to shine through our hearts to those around us.
