Lord of the Abyss Print
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting came as an image in prayer: wounded Jesus diving into an underwater cavern filled with sharks. At the bottom sit two children - Adam and Eve - chained to a red glowing skull, a symbol of death. They are completely unable to save themselves and in fact they’ve chained themselves to this skull.
Like Adam and Eve, we are often deceived by the devil into thinking that God isn’t good, that He’s holding out on us. But by being deceived, we become entrapped in sin and death. Despite our best efforts, we can never unshackle ourselves from this death. The only One who can truly save us is Christ crucified, diving into the most dangerous waters, attracting the demons to Himself, in order to free you. No part of you is too dark, scary, or deep for Him to redeem.
