This painting depicts baby Jesus asleep on His Mother’s chest. The stable they sit in is poor, yet surrounds Mother and Child with profound peace. I want this image to show that even in the poorest, most poverty-stricken moments of life, Jesus and Mary invite us to join them in the stable to experience this richness.
